.Chlidren′s Day 1924 Napkin Ring English Sterling Silver

code: n1321

English sterling silver napkin ring inscribed: Children′s Day 1924 by Henry Moreton, having a full set of Birmingham Hallmarks for 1924 and, monogrammed, on the edge of the rim: C. D. H. The Children′s Day inscription is contained within a circular cartouche on a body with allover engine turned decorations. In 1924, the League of Nations (LON) adopted the Geneva Declaration, a historic document that recognised and affirmed for the first time the existence of rights specific to children and the responsibility of adults towards children. This napkin ring is an early commemorative of this historic document. Weighing 33 grams, this historic napkin ring is 1 7/8" in diameter and 1 1/8" tall. Inscribed and monogrammed as described above, the soft, warm, original finish is present, with no buffing or machine polishing. The excellent original condition and clear detail, with no removals, repairs or alterations, make this an especially attractive offering.
